BING DINNER!

The first time I have felt completely full and probably gotten food from all the appropriate food groups haha. I have been existing solely on beer, bread, cheese, nutella, and yogurt/muesli. In that order. For those non-Stanford people reading the blog, the Bings are the amazing Stanford donors that the entire overseas program is named for that host cultural events for every single overseas program every single quarter. So they paid for us to go to the opera last week and paid for this ridiculously delicious German dinner tonight. I feel like I say this a lot, but German food is sooooo good. We had a buffet-style dinner with German noodles, wienerschnitzel, fish, salad, some kind of mousse, strudel, and more things I couldn't properly identify but can attest to their deliciousness.

I also tried to go on a run today - still haven't completely figured out the best way to work out in Berlin haha. It was less of a run and more of a jogwhiletryingtonotslipandbreakmyneck. But that being said, I saw so much around the Stanford Villa that I probably would have never seen if my body wasn't craving exercise so badly. The Stanford Villa is this ridiculously goregeous greystone building in one of the nicest parts of Berlin. So on my run, I have so many beautiful, picturesque image of snow-covered mansions. One of the coolest things to me about the area too is how long it's been around. The Stanford villa was build in like 1905 or something ridiculous like that. We found out more about the history at the Bing dinner... it was built for a Jewish family who had to leave when Hitler came to power. Since then, it was in and out of commission until Stanford took it over in the 1950's. Stanford bought it about 10 years ago and completely refurnished it. It's beautiful - now that I've found my camera I'll definitely start taking some more pictures. These random pictures are for your amusement - make of them what you will.

Solo journey to Leipzig tomorrow!!!! Wish me luck and street smarts please haha. Love u all!
